Developing and Nurturing Independence (DANI)

 

In 2017 Stalco entered in to a relationship with the DANI Group (Developing And Nurturing Independence) to give young adults with disabilities the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, give them a sense of belonging and an opportunity to develop real life skills in real life situations. In January 2019, after 15 months of training and coaching, Stalco was able to offer 6 of the program participants paid positions as Permanent Part Time Staff members. It is a program that we are proud to support and one which has been incredibly well received by the DANI participants and their families.

Stalco also holds monthly POP-UP lunch events with the DANI group, where program participants come to our location and provide our Staff with an amazing café experience: featuring food prepared under supervision of their Executive Chef. All proceeds go to supporting fundraising for DANI programs

Green Initiative

 

Stalco has created a waste diversion program that makes it easy for Staff to actively participate in reducing our Organizational footprint. Stalco is proud to partner with Wastenot Farms who provide clean and easy food waste recycling with weekly pick ups. Wastenot Farms stops food waste from going to landfill, instead using worm composting to economically promote soil health and soil carbon sequestration through regenerative agriculture. Stalco separates all recyclable waste so that it can flow through the most appropriate channels and avoid landfill at all costs. Reusable boxes are sent to a re-seller where they can be re-used in the market, while all other cardboard and paper is baled and converted to Chipboard which is an affordable and eco-friendly alternative to other manufactured materials.
